Following the “choose-your-own-adventure” format, this webpage is coded to provide the audience with an engaging experience to choose from a variety of different “paths.” Each link selected is then tied to new varied links to follow, some returning to previous points, others propelling them forward. The text itself is the combination of three pieces: an original poem about discovering personal strength, a personal narrative exploring self-doubt and anxiety, and a scientific article discussing stage fright and potential means to conquer it. Use of a limited color pallet, combined with texts and images, serve to maintain harmony and limit distraction from the piece’s meaning. Some of the links are hidden to encourage the user to absorb the symbolic relationship between the images and the text itself, ultimately allowing the user to create their own story from the piece.
